The Utah Blaze is proud to announce the winners of the High School Prep Ironman Athlete of the Year awards. Jordan Loveridge of West Jordan High School and Lori Parkinson of Cyprus High School earned this year’s honor for outstanding performances on the basketball court. Both were previous recipients of the Ironman of the Week award.

In the Arena Football League, the Ironman Award is given to the player that goes above and beyond to help lead their team to victory in multiple facets of the game.

Loveridge was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Utah after leading West Jordan to the semifinals round of the state playoffs. As a senior, he led the 5A division in scoring (22.9 ppg) and rebounding (13.1 rpg). Widely regarded at the top prep basketball prospect in the state, Loveridge has committed to play his college ball at the University of Utah next season.

Parkinson proved her dominance on the court as a senior, earning 4A Defensive Most Valuable Player honors. She led the entire state of Utah in rebounding (15.7 ppg) and steals (6.0 spg) while directing Cyrpus to a state playoff berth. Not to be outdone on offense, Parkinson was also one of the 4A division’s leading scorers (14.6 ppg). She has committed to play college basketball at Southern Utah University.
